Where Quality Eggs Begin

Nestled in one of many valleys in North Canterbury, about one and a half hour's drive from Christchurch's city centre (depending on the traffic).

These hens are at their peak for laying eggs. They produce one egg per day, per hen. Their sole purpose for their lives is to lay eggs.

These hens run freely in paddocks all day from dawn until dusk. Fed pasture as well as Free Range Laying pellets. Water is fresh twice a day. Their caravan, hens included, plus feed bins are moved regularly so they have fresh pasture to eat and scratch at.

The hens have special nesting boxes inside their caravan where some lay their eggs on plastic turf-like mats; the eggs roll away shortly after being laid. The rest find clean, dry areas to lay their eggs. The eggs are clean and unlikely to be broken. Collected by hand carefully daily.

At night, the hens fly into their caravan and rest on the perches that are provided for them.

Hens, caravan and food (plus pasture seed) are New Zealand made and legitimately sourced.
